Medicine Bow National Forest lands dominate the southern portion of this Converse County survey, rising toward the prominent peak of Protsmans Knob. The landscape is defined by a complex network of drainage systems, including Little Deer Cr and its various branches, which carve through the high terrain. The transition from these steeper elevations to more level ground is evident at Duck Creek Flats, where Duck Cr and Alphin Draw converge.
