1894 Map of Quakertown

USGS Topo · Published 1939

About this map

Jeremiah Ahern and the Philadelphia Water Department documented this landscape in the late 19th century, revealing a region defined by agricultural townships and a growing industrial rail network. The hub of Quakertown serves as the focal point for several rail lines, including the Phila. And Reading Railroad and the Quakertown and Bethlehem Branch. These corridors connect dozens of small crossroads communities such as Milford Square, Spinnerstown, and Trumbauersville, many of which were established long before the rails arrived.
