Rail Canyon and the surrounding ridgelines define this section of the inner Coast Range foothills along the Glenn Co and Colusa Co boundary. This landscape is characterized by a network of seasonal drainages and named valleys, including Clark Valley and Hubbard Valley, that feed into the larger Central Valley Sacramento Valley to the east. The terrain is marked by significant elevation changes, rising toward prominent landmarks such as High Peak and the stretching spine of Seminary Ridge.
