Ramsey Spring and Cottonwood Spring provide rare water sources in this arid expanse of Mineral County, where the desert floor meet the rising slopes of the Gabbs Valley Range. The landscape is defined by the drainage patterns of Gabbs Wash and Finger Rock Wash, which cut through the broad Gabbs Valley. To the west, the terrain becomes increasingly complex, marked by the prominent Black Hills and the rugged contours of Mystery Ridge.
