The boundary between Piscataquis Co and Aroostook Co bisects this northern Maine wilderness, a landscape dominated by prominent peaks and ridges. High points such as Round Mountain, Peaked Mtn, and Spectacle Mtn define the topography, while lower-lying areas are characterized by a network of drainage systems including Chase Brook and Lovejoy Brook. The region is dotted with several significant water bodies, most notably Rowe Lake, Bartlett Pond, and Weeks Pond.
