Current River drainage and the complex topography of the Ozark Highlands define this portion of Shannon County. The landscape is characterized by its significant karst features, most notably Round Spring, which sits within the Ozark National Scenic Riverway. The river is fed by a network of springs, including Cave Spring, Pulltite Spring, and the uniquely named Fire Hydrant Spring. Settlement is dispersed among named hollows and ridges, with small communities established at Timber and Ink.
