Land management is a visible priority here, as much of the territory falls within the Rogue River National Forest. Evidence of forestry and forest service operations is found at the Star Ranger Station and along the various gulches, such as Lime Gulch and Rock Gulch. To the south, the McKee Bridge Picnic Area marks another significant river crossing and local gathering point, while the presence of a Gravel Pit suggests small-scale resource extraction typical of the valley floor during this period.
