2022 Map of San Luis Peak

About this map

San Luis Peak dominates this high-altitude landscape along the border of Gunnison National Forest and Rio Grande National Forest. This terrain is defined by the Continental Divide, which is traced by the Continental Divide National Scenic Trl as it winds across high ridges and through San Luis Pass. Below the treeless summits of Organ Mtn and Bachelor Mtn, the map reveals a remote network of trails including Stewart Creek Trl and La Garita Sd Trl. The only named settlement area, Phoenix Park, lies tucked within a basin formed by the headwaters of E Willow Cr, highlighting the isolation of these Mineral County highlands. Dozens of drainage systems, such as Cochetopa Cr and Stewart Cr, originate here, flowing away from the divide through steep alpine valleys.
