Saska Peak and the surrounding high country of the Wenatchee National Forest dominate this modern survey, where the Chelan Mountains and Entiat Mountains converge. The drainage system of the Entiat River defines the lower elevations, fed by numerous tributaries such as Snow Brushy Cr and Anthem Creek. High-altitude basins contain alpine water bodies including Myrtle Lake, Choral Lake, and the Larch Lakes near Fifth of July Mtn. This landscape is marked by extreme relief, from the heights of Pyramid Mountain to the sharp profiles of Devils Smoke Stack and Gopher Mtn. Access is limited to primitive routes like 45 Mile Drive and designated Trailhead Access points, reflecting the protected wilderness character of this part of Chelan County. Geographers and hikers can trace the complex ridgelines through Saska Pass and Borealis Pass which have long dictated movement through this mountain terrain.
