Gifford Pinchot National Forest covers this landscape in the southern Cascade Range, spanning the border between Clark Co and Skamania Co. The terrain is defined by a series of prominent summits, including Siouxon Peak, Huffman Peak, and Calamity Peak, which rise above a complex network of drainages. A system of Forest Service roads, such as Nat For Dev Rd 57 and Nat For Dev Rd 53, provides access through the timbered slopes and across the high ground of Horseshoe Ridge.
