The Desert Mountains anchor the southern boundary of this Churchill County landscape, rising abruptly from the surrounding basin floors. To the north and east, the terrain transitions into a complex hydrologic network essential for desert agriculture and water management. A series of man-made waterways, including the G-Line Canal and G-3 Canal, create a grid-like pattern across the flats, feeding into drainage systems like the G-Line-Drain and Carson Lake 1 Drain.
