Big Bend National Park and the Rio Grande Wild and Scenic River define this stretch of the border between Texas and Coahuila. The terrain is deeply incised by steep drainage systems like Driftwood Canyon, Horse Canyon, and Heath Canyon, which all feed toward the Rio Grande. This 2019 survey documents a landscape of extreme verticality, dominated by the Sierra Larga ridge and the arid basins of Telephone Canyon and Brushy Draw. Infrastructure in this remote corridor is sparse, centered on Ranch Rd 2627 which provides access to the Heath Canyon Airport and the international boundary at the Gerstacker Bridge. The map records the precise topography of Stillwell Crossing, a point of historical transit across the river where the seasonal Stillwell Cr meets the main channel.
