Stittsville and the surrounding townships in Missaukee County are defined by a landscape of extensive wetlands and scattered rural settlements. The drainage patterns of the area are dominated by massive marshy features such as Thornton Swamp, Moorestown Swamp, and the winding Dead Stream. These wetlands alternate with local high points like Baldy and Allen Hill, creating a mosaic of dry upland and damp lowland.
