The historical Lander Trail winds through this corner of Caribou National Forest, following a high-elevation corridor used by emigrants during the westward expansion. The topography is dominated by the parallel ridges of the Caribou Range and the Webster Range, which create a complex drainage network feeding into Tincup Creek and Stump Creek. High-altitude landmarks such as Stump Peak and the ominously named Suicide Pass define the divide between these watersheds.
