US Highway 191 follows the winding path of the Gallatin River through this high-altitude landscape, where the northwestern corner of Yellowstone National Park meets the Gallatin National Forest. The geography is defined by a series of prominent peaks and drainage systems, including Sunshine Point, Grouse Mtn, and the distinctive Pulpit Rock. Several river crossings, such as Almart Bridge, Sam Wilson Bridge, and Ruegemar Bridge, facilitate access along the valley floor.
