Three Lakes and Imperial Heights anchor the southeastern portion of this Upper Peninsula landscape, where a dense network of water bodies defines the character of Baraga County. The area is dominated by substantial lakes such as Beaufort Lake, Petticoat Lake, and the northwestern reach of Lake Michigamme. Moving north into the backcountry, the terrain is characterized by smaller glacial lakes like Teddy Lake and Craig Lake, connected by drainage systems including Nestoria Cr and the Spurr River. The map shows the N Country National Scenic Trail winding through the northern sections, passing near Long Lake and Clair Lake. This 2014 survey documents the modern road infrastructure including Us-41 and local routes like Koskela Rd and Fence River Rd, alongside a high density of private drives and access roads serving the lakeside communities.
