Trinity Mtn and Jackson Mtn dominate the western landscape of this North Alabama quadrangle, overlooking a dense network of country roads and family cemeteries. The area between Trinity and Decatur reveals a transition from the wooded heights of Mud Tavern Hill to the expanding residential neighborhoods of Griffin Addition and Austinville. Water defines the lowlands, with Mud Tavern Creek and Bakers Creek draining toward Wheeler Lake to the north, while the southern reaches feature the winding path of West Flint Creek.
