The Floyd River and its tributary, the W Br Floyd River, define the agricultural landscape of south-central Plymouth County in the early 2010s. The settlement of Merrill occupies the northwestern corner of the quadrangle, serving as a primary hub where Main St intersects the regional road network. Moving southeast across the section-line roads, the terrain is drained by a series of small watercourses including Plymouth Cr, Carter Cr, and Minnie Brook.
