Vail Lake dominates the northern reaches of this Riverside County landscape, where the waters of Temecula Cr and Wilson Cr gather. This area is defined by a series of distinct valleys, including Lancaster Valley, Butterfield Valley, and Aguanga Valley, which provided historical corridors for travel and small-scale settlement like the community at Radec. The terrain rises sharply toward the south, reaching the prominent heights of Agua Tibia Mountain and Eagle Crage.
