Saint John River forms a natural international boundary between the United States and Canada along the northeastern edge of this Aroostook County landscape. The area is defined by the Upper Saint John River Valley, where small rural settlements like Parent and Daigle Mill are connected by a network of local roads including Parent Rd and Grivois Rd. The terrain is deeply carved by drainage systems, most notably Violette Stream which flows eastward from Violette Pond.
