Round Valley opens at the northern edge of this high-country landscape, where Main Creek and Little Hobble Creek flow through irrigated fields marked by the Boren Ditch. The terrain is dominated by the massive Wallsburg Ridge and the steep slopes of Rattlesnake Mountain, much of which falls within the Uinta National Forest. The map captures an area defined by complex drainages like Penrod Canyon and Smooth Hollow, which feed into the South Fork Provo River.

Evidence of historical land use appears in small pockets, such as a Prospect and Mines tucked near Little Valley, suggesting early mineral exploration in the shadow of Bald Knoll.
