Marks Garrison and the surrounding highlands of the Quaboag River valley define this section of the Massachusetts interior, where Hampden, Worcester, and Hampshire counties meet. The settlement of Warren and its neighbor West Warren are connected by the CSX railroad corridor, which follows the path of the Quaboag River. The landscape is dotted with several notable burial grounds, including the Old Indian Cem near West Brookfield and Saint Pauls Cem.
