The settlement of Warwick anchors this section of North Dakota, situated just south of the distinctive Shin Bone Lake. The landscape is defined by the meandering course of the Sheyenne River, which carves a deep, winding valley through the central portion of the quadrangle. This drainage pattern stands in contrast to the surrounding prairie, which is dotted with numerous small wetlands and larger bodies of water such as North Washington Lake and Bakstad Lake. Local elevation is punctuated by Lookout Mtn, providing a vantage point over the township grids of Benson and Eddy counties.
