About this map

West Granville and Granville Center anchor this mid-century survey of the rugged highlands straddling the Massachusetts-Connecticut border. The landscape is defined by massive water management infrastructure, including the Barkhamsted Reservoir, Cobble Mountain Reservoir, and Borden Brook Reservoir, which dominate the drainage basins of the E Br Farmington River and Little River. These reservoirs represent a significant mid-20th-century transformation of the local topography, submerging former valley lands while preserving the surrounding upland character within the Granville State Forest and Tunxis State Forest.
