Santa Clara occupies the northeastern corner of this landscape, where the Santa Clara River flows toward its confluence with the Virgin River further south. The terrain is defined by dramatic elevation changes, moving from the low-lying Big Round Valley and Little Round Valley to the prominent heights of the White Hills and Boomer Hill. Water management in this arid environment is evident through features like the Curley Hollow Reservoir and several mapped desert sources such as Stucki Springs and Cave Spring.

A complex network of specialized trails crisscrosses the desert floor, including the Bearclaw Poppy, Zen Trail, and the Bloomington Microloop. These paths wind through notable geological formations such as Red Bluff and The Gap. Along the southern edge of the quadrangle, the land descends toward Starvation Point and the First Narrows of the river, while the settlement of Atkinville sits near the drainage of the Atkinville Wash, reflecting the long-standing relationship between settlement patterns and these vital desert waterways.
