Lolo National Forest encompasses this high-elevation terrain in Mineral County, dominated by the prominent peaks of White Mountain and Lion Point. The landscape is defined by a dense network of mountain streams and drainages, including the headwaters of S Fork Fish Cr and Thompson Cr, which carve through the steep topography of the Northern Rockies. This 2017 survey illustrates the complex system of forest access roads that facilitate movement through the backcountry, such as Wig Creek Rd and the (FDR) Cascade Spr route.
