Wolf Creek Pass serves as the central crossing point in this high-elevation terrain, where the boundaries of the San Juan National Forest and Rio Grande National Forest meet. The 2019 survey documents the serpentine path of the Continental Divide National Scenic Trail as it traverses prominent peaks, including Alberta Peak and the massive ridge of Treasure Mountain. These summits overlook the headwaters of the E Fork San Juan River and several alpine drainages like Wolf Creek and Fall Creek.
