2020 Map of Alamo Mountain

About this map

Alamo Mountain rises as the dominant landmark in this arid landscape along the border of New Mexico and Texas. The terrain is defined by a system of drainage features like Hackberry Draw and a vital network of man-made water collection points essential for ranching in the Chihuahuan Desert. These features, such as Grief Tank, Copper Bottom Tank, and Lake Tank, are scattered across the townships of t25s r12e and t26s r13e. Near the base of the mountain, Alamo Spring provides a rare natural water source. A grid of county roads, including Co RD f001 and Co RD f008, crisscrosses the high desert floor, connecting remote tanks and providing access through the Otero and Hudspeth County line.
