Verndale and Aldrich anchor the southwestern corner of this Wadena County landscape, connected by the parallel routes of Us-10 and Co HWY-2. The area is defined by its low-lying river valleys, where the Leaf River and its tributaries, the Wing River and Redeye River, wind through a grid of rural roads. To the south, the Partridge River meanders toward Aldrich, passing near the Mother of Sorrows Cem.
