Alsen serves as the primary settlement within this section of Cavalier County, situated along the southern edge of the survey area. The landscape is defined by a grid of agricultural section lines and township boundaries, including t160n r62w and t161n r62w. A notable concentration of community history is found at the Rosehill Mennonite Brethren Cem in the northern portion of the quadrangle, while the Alsen Cem is located just south of the town center. The network of local roads such as Lake Rd and 92nd St NE connects numerous small wetlands and depressions typical of the regional prairie pothole terrain. This late twentieth-century data reflects a highly organized rural landscape where early twentieth-century settlement patterns have solidified into a stable township infrastructure.
