Amandaville and the winding waters of Crocus Creek anchor this landscape along the boundary of Cumberland, Adair, and Russell Counties. The terrain is defined by a dense network of ridges, including Big Pond Ridge, Greenbrier Ridge, and Melson Ridge, which separate the many forks and branches feeding the Cumberland River in the south. These ridges dictated the development of rural settlements like Chance, Inroad, and Cundiff, which are connected by narrow roads following the high ground or creek beds.
