Cataract Canyon dominates this high plateau landscape, carved by the waters of Cataract Cr as it winds through the Coconino County terrain. The 2021 survey reveals a territory defined by complex drainage systems and isolated water sources, essential for survival in this arid environment. Named landmarks like Antelope Point and Bear Fall Point provide orientation above the deep incisions of Moqui Trail Canyon and Disquiba Canyon. Local resource management is evident through numerous catchment features such as Chickapanagi Tank, Newman Tank, and the Platinum Tanks. These water points, along with Jwa Qiwaiv Gwa Spring and High Wall Spring, represent critical infrastructure for ranching or wildlife. A limited network of unpaved tracks, including Sage Brush Point Rd and Sinyala Tank Rd, provides the only vehicular access through this corner of the Arizona wilderness.
