The Colville Valley floor and the surrounding highlands of Stevens County are captured in this 2017 study, showing a landscape defined by the meandering Colville River and a network of rural settlements. The small communities of Arden and Orin sit along the valley's eastern edge, where the Old Arden Hwy follows the base of the rising hills. To the west, the terrain becomes more complex as the elevation rises toward Dunn Mtn and the pocketed drainage of Swiss Valley.
