The Crooked River and its North Fork Crooked River define the northern valley of this high-desert landscape, where agricultural water management is evident through a series of upland catchments including Mainline Reservoir Number 1, Mainline Reservoir Number 2, and Mainline Reservoir Number 3. The southern portion of the map transitions into the timbered reaches of the Ochoco National Forest, marked by the prominent height of Arrowwood Point and the dramatic drop of Hawk Rim to the east.
