The Amargosa River cuts through the arid landscape of Nye County, tracing a path across the Amargosa Desert into the northern reaches of the Mojave Desert. This 2014 survey documents the convergence of administrative and environmental boundaries, where the southeastern corner of Death Valley National Park meets the Nevada-California state line. The terrain is defined by extreme elevation changes, rising from the basin floor to the prominent Sand Hill Peak.
