Bedstead Ridge rises above the drainage network of the Middle Fork Owyhee River in this high-desert portion of Owyhee County. The landscape is defined by its hydrologic features, including numerous seasonal and perennial water sources such as Fenwick Spring, Scott Spring, and Bedstead Spring. This area of southwestern Idaho has long served as rangeland, evidenced by the presence of Post Camp and the grazing-related label Herds V near the riverbank.
