The Middle Fork Owyhee River cuts through the high desert of southwest Idaho, defining the central hydrology of this 2017 survey. The landscape is characterized by a series of prominent high points and flats, most notably Bedstead Ridge in the southeast and the looming Juniper Mtn to the north. These features are part of a larger network of volcanic plateaus and deep drainage basins, including the distinct formations of The Buttes and the depression of Dukes Hole.
