Neihart occupies a narrow valley in the Little Belt Mountains, flanked by the steep walls of the Lewis & Clark National Forest. This high-altitude mining district is defined by its deep drainages and sharp peaks, where Belt Creek follows the path of US Hwy 89 northward. The landscape is marked by a complex history of burial sites reflecting the local labor and community, including the Miners Union Cem, Neihart Cem, and Graveyard Gulch Cem.
