Lake Superior defines the northern reaches of this landscape, where the Carp River and Threemile Creek empty into the Great Lake. Further inland, the terrain is characterized by an intricate network of waterways and glacial lakes, including the sprawling Betsy Lake, Bodi Lake, and the smaller Culhane Lake. The North Country National Scenic Trail traverses the western portion of the quadrangle, winding past Muskrat Lakes and the Parcell Lakes as it follows the drainage of the Little Two Hearted River. This 2019 survey shows a region largely preserved for recreation and natural resource management, indicated by the presence of the Bodi Lake Pathway and a series of secondary forest roads like Crisp Point Road and Betsy Tower Road. The coastal interface at Little Lake Harbor provides one of the few named landmarks along this stretch of the Upper Peninsula shoreline.
