The Canadian River cuts through the southern reaches of this Panhandle landscape, where the historical footprint of ranching and early settlement remains visible. The presence of the Tascosa Cem serves as a silent reminder of the area's frontier history, situated near the banks where Tascosa Cr meets the river. Much of the surrounding terrain is defined by a dense network of intermittent drainage systems, including Pescado Cr, which feeds into the Pescado Cr Lake, and several branches of Indian Cr.
