The settlement of Brevort occupies a thin strip of Mackinac County coastline where the Brevoort River meets the northern reaches of Lake Michigan. This 2011 survey reveals a landscape defined by the drainage of several waterways, including the Cut River and the South Branch Carp River, which carve through a network of logging trails and forest roads. The shoreline is marked by prominent natural features such as the Manitou Payment Highbanks and Manitou Payment Point, while the industrial footprint of the Sand Products Corporation sits just west of the main village. Farther inland, the terrain is sparsely populated, characterized by a grid of named trails like Ozark Trl and Jackson Trl that serve the surrounding state forest lands. Near the eastern edge, Little Brevoort Lake provides a hub for recreation at the Little Brevoort Lake North and South State Forest Campgrounds. Local heritage is anchored at the Brevort Cemetery located along Cemetery Rd.
