Brevort sits at the edge of Lake Michigan in Mackinac County, where the southern shoreline of the Upper Peninsula meets the mouth of the Little Brevoort River. This 2014 survey documents a landscape defined by its coastal geography and a dense network of forest trails. The shoreline is dominated by the Manitou Payment Highbanks and Manitou Payment Point, topographic features that overlook the water west of the primary settlement. Inland, the hydrology of the region is traced through the South Br Carp River and several smaller tributaries like the Cut River, which cut through the forested terrain of the eastern Hiawatha National Forest area.
