Bristol Valley forms the central spine of this Ontario County landscape, where the waters of Mill Cr and Mud Cr navigate between steep Finger Lakes ridges. In the southeast, the village of Naples sits at the foot of the valley, while smaller settlements like Bristol Springs and Boswell Corners occupy higher ground to the north. The area is defined by its significant vertical relief, peaking at heights like Gannett Hill and the dramatic overlook known as The Jumpoff.

Family and local history is preserved at Hunt's Hollow Cem near the southern settlement of Hunt Hollow, as well as Pamely Cem in the northern reaches of Berby Hollow. The terrain is also a hub for youth recreation at Camp Cutler BSA and conservation at the Stid Hill area. This 2019 survey documents the modern road network, including Gulick Rd and W Hollow Rd, which connect these dispersed rural communities across the upland terrain.
