Caddo and the surrounding Lawrence County uplands are defined by a network of small family cemeteries and agricultural communities along the headwaters of several prominent creeks. The terrain transitions from the elevations of Chicken Foot Mountain and Bates Mountain in the northwest down toward the more settled corridors of Midway and Pittsburg. Local water sources are abundant, with named features such as Chalybeate Spring and the Double Ponds providing reliable resources for these rural outposts.
