The S Fork Eel River winds through the southwestern corner of this Mendocino County landscape, near the settlement of Branscomb. This 2018 survey reveals a terrain defined by high summits like Cahto Peak, Signal Peak, and Black Oak Mtn, interconnected by a complex network of ridgeline roads such as Cahto Peak Rd and Kenny Creek Rd. The geography is deeply dissected by numerous watercourses, including Cahto Cr, Tenmile Cr, and Mud Springs Cr, which flow through steep drainages like Paralyze Canyon.
