The terrain is characterized by a complex network of dry washes and canyons, most notably the central Cañada Calladita and the broad Arroyo Chico to the south. Numerous water catchment features like Cholla Tank, Mud Flat Tank, and Rattlesnake Tank are scattered throughout, highlighting the essential role of water management in this environment.

Evidence of historical habitation is sparse but significant, with the map identifying the Rancho De Stephan (Aban'd) and Tucker Ranch (Aban'd), both marked as abandoned by the time of the 1961 field check. These sites, along with various Ruins and the Well La Saladita, offer a look at the former footprint of rural life and ranching before these remote homesteads were vacated.
