The Wenatchee River valley serves as the primary corridor for settlement and agriculture in this 2017 study of the northern Cascades foothills. The city of Cashmere is the central hub, surrounded by a complex network of irrigation infrastructure including the Icicle Canal and the Reclamation Ditch Rd. These systems support the valley's development, which is bounded by the steep slopes of the Entiat Mountains to the north and numerous dramatic drainages such as Nahahum Canyon and Hay Canyon.
