Cass serves as the focal point for this high-elevation region of West Virginia, where the Greenbrier River and Shavers Fork carve through the high ridges of the Monongahela National Forest. The landscape is dominated by the massive profile of Back Allegheny Mountain and the towering heights of Thorny Flat and Bald Knob.
