Oneida Lake dominates this mid-1970s survey, separating the northern settlements of Constantia and Cleveland from the low-lying wetlands and ridges to the south. The northern shore reflects a history of transit and industry, marked by the Old RR Grade and the established Fish Hatchery near Sunset Bay. On the opposite shore, the landscape shifts toward the expansive Cicero Swamp State Wildlife Management Area and the winding course of Chittenango Creek.
