Cockscomb Ridge dominates the southern reaches of this landscape, serving as a distinct geological spine between the Snake Valley to the west and the Confusion Range to the east. The terrain is characterized by a stark transition from the low-lying basins of the valley floor to the rising elevations of the Salt Marsh Range and the eastern ridges. Minimal human infrastructure is present, limited largely to the corridors of Confusion Gap Rd and Confusion E, which navigate the natural passes through the range. Along the eastern margin, the Disappointment Hills add further complexity to the landform. The map also delineates the jurisdictional boundary where Juab Co and Millard Co meet, showing how the county line bisects these remote ranges in the West Desert region.
